Shin: 10x1

Shin is a young Shanghainese designer specialising in youthful and vibrant accessories from brooches to necklaces to handbags. Her indie brand "10x1" was born in 2008, the name based on the pronounciation of her own Chinese name: SHI Chen YI (which translates to 10 times 1 in English).

Under this brand name she continues to produce one of a kind pieces styled with both fun and elegance in mind. Appealing to a range of tastes, Shin describes her accessories as "eye-catching... specifically designed for stylish people." And they have indeed been spotted on celebrities and fashionistas at Shanghai's coolest events and on TV.

She goes on to say "I have always been a very creative and entrepreneurial person; I describe my necklace selection as exaggerated and fun.The motivation for creating my brand came from the feeling of having someone else appreciate and buy the funny grin crocodile necklace I made with my own two hands in the summer of 2008. That feeling is incredibly rewarding. My newest endeavor is designing girly stuff for the overseas market.”

Shin is probably the most creative designer we know, producing new and topical pieces every month so that you can always be on theme.
